• Our concept of applying an owner’s care and discipline to managing capital has proven itself an integral asset to the success of Northland Bancorp. In early 2008, we proved ourselves to be prudent and liquid when global consensus was greedy and illiquid. Conversely, later in the year we acted opportunistically when global consensus was fearful and, as a result, enjoyed extraordinary returns in 2009. By applying an owner’s care, Northland Bancorp and its predecessors have compounded their own capital at more than 35% annually for over 20 years.
